Recurrent Events 7/30/16: Prince Tribute Concert Oct 13, Rocketeer Sequel Planned, Funko Classic Horror Mopeez Figures

Welcome to your weekly news update for retro pop culture headlines, the Recurrent Events! I hope you've been enjoying the new podcast! I released this week's episode a little earlier as I had travel plans. I hope you also had a chance to listen to the Roundtable Review of Ghostbusters released this past week. We had a great time breaking down the new film and discussing how it measured up to our expectations.

I didn't get a chance to review the Hallmark Shirt Tales Itty Bittys figures that I told you about last week, but look for it in the coming week. I've also got a couple ideas for some supercuts to release on the RD80s YouTube channel so make sure you are subscribed.

For someone who remembers watching Nickelodeon programming on afternoons in the late '80s and early '90s, Legends of the Hidden Temple: The Movie just sounds like a fun idea. I really liked that it appears to be a fun kid's adventure with probably a bunch of callbacks (like the silver monkey scene at the end) for the parents.
