Welcome to your weekly source for retro pop culture news, the Recurrent Events! Have you been able to score any Ecto Cooler from your local stores? I still haven't seen any "in the wild" yet but a friend luckily ordered a few cases from Amazon so I have it stocked and ready to consume over the next couple weeks. Demand is so high and I hope Coca-Cola will flood the supermarkets with the green citrus drink leading up to the movie release next month.

Coming up next week, my pal Wyatt will be posting his review of the new Voltron: Legendary Defender series on Netflix. I've been counting down the days until its debut and can't wait to dive in this weekend. Wyatt is a huge Voltron fan and long-time followers may remember his Voltron at 30 article a couple years back. I'm looking forward to hearing his opinion as he's watched pretty much every iteration of the franchise through the years. There are also a few early reviews listed in the TV section below.

You may remember the live-action Donkey Kong film featured on the Recurrent Events a few weeks back. Well, the MyNameisBanks channel has done it again with a live-action Super Mario Maker short film! The shear craziness was enough for Video of the Week and makes me wonder if it was based on a real level. Thanks to Gizmodo for bringing it to my attention...
