Mashable is reporting that a new world record time has been set for solving the Rubik's Cube. At an official World Cube Association event (can't believe these still exist), Collin Burns solved the cube in just 5.253 seconds! Don't believe me? Here's the video proof...
Unbelievable. The legacy of this popular '80s puzzle continues to reach new generations over 40 years after it's invention. While we're on the topic of famous solvers, let's take a look at a few more that might not be quite as fast as Burns but can still impress.
For the 2006 movie The Pursuit of Happyness, Will Smith taught himself how to solve the Rubik's Cube and even did it on live TV in 55 seconds!
Teen heartthrob Justin Bieber proved he was more than just a pretty face with a voice on Radio Disney in 2009 by solving the cube in less than a minute.
Check out this robot that can solve a cube in a second. Crazy!
How about this guy who solves 8 puzzles while holding his breath underwater!
And just in case you need a challenge from the 3 x 3 x 3 size, try this 17 x 17 x17 on for size. Watch this time-lapsed video of solving it in about 7.5 minutes.
