While I've been on the subject of the original MTV VJs and their new book VJ: The Unplugged Adventures of MTV's First Wave, I figured it would be a good time to post this short documentary film. In 1998, MTV produced "I Was An MTV VJ" for their Ultrasound series. It follows the "VJ Voltron" (as I call them) and early footage of MTV at it's infancy. We also get to hear interviews and reaction to various topics from all five members, as this short film was produced before the death of J.J. Jackson in 2004. At 21 minutes, it's a great history lesson and accompanies nicely with reading the new book.
