I absolutely enjoy great documentaries on '80s pop culture, much more than say all these movie reboots that saturate the headlines. A new documentary has been planned with the help of Kickstarter to showcase the definitive history of the Masters of the Universe franchise. Check out this awesome teaser that transports us back to the days of play in the '80s...
What's exciting about this new film is that the writer/director tandem of Randall Lobb and Rob McCallum have already produced two great nostalgic documentaries. The first example would be Turtle Power: The Definitive History of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles which you can currently watch on YouTube thanks to the Paramount Vault. The other film to check out is Nintendo Quest which is one collector's pursuit to buy all 700 NES video game cartridges in 30 days without any online purchases.
With that pedigree, I'm excited to see what these guys can do with their current project Power of Grayskull: The Definitive History of Masters of the Universe. Check out the Kickstarter now and contribute to making the film, plus earn some great rewards in the process. The filmmakers have posted their hit list of people to interview along with their plan and stretch goals. Campaign ends Feb 26, 2016 and it's already achieved 40% of the $25,000 goal as of the publishing of this article. You can also find more info at HemanDoc.com and also through the Chasing Grayskull vidcast.
